Swim Lesson Helpers
If you are interested in assisting with our Red Cross swim lessons,
and are a swimmer at least 11 years old, you need to:
- Please mail the sessions (check the Swim Lessons
web page) you are available, to Mrs. Swoboda (address
is below).
- Include your age, name address, and phone number.
- Make sure this is okay with your parents!
- Your letter must be received by June 1.
- Pay is $4.00 per hour.

Pool
Manager & Assistant Manager Needed
Black Oak Swim Club - Centerville
Black Oak Swim Club, a
neighborhood pool in Centerville, providing a safe, healthy
and enjoyable environment for swimming, tennis and other
summer recreational activities for its members is seeking
applicant's for Pool Manager and Assistant Pool Manager
positions.
If you meet the following
qualifications and are interested in working outdoors this
summer in a fun environment and with an enthusiastic group
of people, submit your resume to the address listed below.
- CPR, First Aid and
Lifeguard certifications (preferred)
- H.S. diploma or GED
equivalent
- Strong communication
skills, including negotiation
- Ability to direct, lead
and inspire people
- Familiarity with pool
operating procedures, including working knowledge of
electrical, plumbing and mechanical components
- Basic financial acuity
- Ability to understand
issues, and develop and implement solutions
- Must be able to begin
working part-time (weekends, evenings) beginning in May,
full-time beginning on or about June 1st, and conduct
closing activities the week after Labor Day
Responsibilities of the Pool
Manager and Assistant Pool Manager are as follows:
- Perform pre-season
opening, post-season closing and maintenance activities
associated with the daily operation and security of the
facility
- Supervise BOSC staff
(lifeguards, receptionists and food service personnel)
- Ensure pool-operating
rules and regulations are followed at all times
- Collect & safeguard
funds, maintain proper records & daily accounting
information
- Prepare and develop
personnel schedule
- Provide initial point of
contact for BOSC member inquiries (member relations)
- Notify BOSC board to
issues raised during the operation of the Club
- Determine and provide
ongoing training and development of the BOSC staff,
including conducting in-service sessions
- Coordinate vendor
purchases and deliveries
- Operate within the
established budget for the season
- Support BOSC events (i.e.
swim meets, club parties, member parties) by identifying
needs and fulfilling them in alignment with BOSC
policies
- Conduct weekly staff and
in-service meetings

Coach & Assistant Swim Coach
Summer Employment

Black Oak Swim Club, a
neighborhood, non-profit organization providing a safe,
healthy and enjoyable environment for swimming, tennis and
other summer recreational activities for its members and
their guests is seeking applicant's for Head Coach and
Assistant Swim Coaching positions. (We are not seeking Dive
Coach applicants.)
If you meet the following
qualifications and are interested in working outdoors this
summer in a fun environment and with an enthusiastic group

- Attention to detail - and
have been on a swim team previously.
- Understand line-up
procedures and computer software.
- Communication skills
- Ability to work under
pressure and work with all age groups.
- Compassion
- Patience especially with
younger children
Responsibilities are as
follows:
- Understand and
consistently enforce all BOSC rules and regulations
- Observe and monitor member
and guest behavior and adherence to BOSC policies
- Ensure the health and
safety of all persons using the facility
- Handle member and guest
inquiries in a friendly and courteous manner (refer
members and guests to pool management when inquiries not
answered satisfactorily or when you are unsure of the
appropriate response)
- The head coach is
responsible for the complete line-up and managing the
team at all meets. Assistant coaches assist in the
line-up and participate in the management of all meets.
